Planned Giving

The SPCA of Northern Nevada receives no funding from the ASPCA, tax dollars or any other animal welfare organization. We are an independent agency relying on donations from generous individuals, businesses, adoption fees, grants and proceeds from our thrift store. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.

Planned gifts are a critical source of funding that enables the SPCA of Northern Nevada to plan and carry out the best programs to save abandoned and homeless pets. To remember these animals in such an enduring way is quite possibly the most powerful gift that a person can make to stop animal suffering.

U.S. tax laws are structured to encourage charitable giving, and unlimited amounts can generally be left for charitable purposes free of estate and gift taxes. You do not need a great deal of wealth to make a difference — every dollar means an extra chance for an animal in need.

Your estate plan represents your beliefs, your life, and a way to continue your compassion into the future. Here are some of the giving options available:

  • Direct “Now” Tax Deductible Gift — make a direct contribution on-line or mail to: 4950 Spectrum Blvd., Reno, NV 89512.
  • Charity Remainder Trust
  • Charitable Lead Trust
  • Charitable Gift Annuity
  • Financial Accounts
  • Living Trusts
  • Wills
  • Life Insurance Policies
  • Retirement Plans

To name the SPCA of Northern Nevada in your will, all you generally need is the following information:

  • Full legal name: The SPCA of Northern Nevada
  • Permanent mailing address: 4950 Spectrum Blvd., Reno, NV 89512
  • Federal tax identification number: 880386601

The SPCA of Northern Nevada Legacy Society

The Legacy Society was created to honor the special people who have chosen to support the SPCA of Northern Nevada with a planned gift. Legacy Society members are committed to saving and improving the lives of animals for many years to come, and for that we are profoundly grateful.

Planned gifts are critical in building a long-term capacity to rescue homeless animals and place them in homes where they can finally be loved and appreciated. Planned gifts are also one of the most effective ways to ensure that your generous and caring spirit continues to have a positive impact long into the future.
